STUDIO
Architecture is the convergence of matters: a subtle interplay between the spatial environment that shapes our lives and the phenomenological world that grounds our experiences in terrestrial reality. æterre reveals the inherent sensoriality of architecture, the instinctive forces that bind us to the elements, and our emotional connection to space.
Dedicated to reimagining the familiar, æterre draws inspiration from the concept of the total work of art to celebrate the everyday and the latent potential it embodies. Its holistic approach promotes the free flow of ideas and disciplines, reflected in its relationships with clients and partners. The designed spaces are the result of a close collaboration with clients, expressing their individuality and offering comprehensive support throughout the creative process. Driven by a keen artistic sensibility, the studio stands out for its commitment to craftsmanship, equally favoring functionality and longevity. The team thrives in materializing environments and moments that incite exploration, contemplation, and introspection. For æterre, each project is a story in its own right, told through the intersection of humanity, space, and time.
The analytical nature of æterre and the synergistic collaboration between its founders, Arianne Pizem and Alexandre Rossignol, are manifested in meticulous assemblies, executed with precision and a genuine ethic of care. Currently registered architects in Quebec and alumni of McGill University, the founders acquired a body of knowledge and traditions from working in Montreal, New Delhi, Paris, and Shanghai. Building on their professional experiences on different continents, they decided to ground æterre in Montreal, infusing their practice with external influences while highlighting the built environment, narratives, materials, and expertise of the local context.
